Good Friday is the day Christians world over celebrate to remember the death of Jesus Christ.
In Uganda especially on the football scene, the game enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice which game in the FUFA super league to attend.
Apart from the Proline vs CRO game that has been moved to Holy Saturday, the 6 other games lined up will go on as planned.
Vipers football club is set to host Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) at their Buikwe while Victoria University hosts Jinja giant killers, Bul football club.
Vipers Vs URA – Buikwe Stadium:
Vipers lost their last league game (1 -2 to KCC) and will be out to avoid a second loss running. URA on the other hand is an on form team having triumped 3 – 0 in the league cup on Sunday.
The 2 sides have 45 points apiece with URA having a superior goal difference (25 compared to Vipers’ 15).
Vipers will continue to play minus their lead striker, Yunus Sentamu (away in DRC on trials with AS vita f.c), but in Joseph Mpande and Ceaser Okhuti, they have potent replacements.
URA ‘s on-form player, Augustine Nsumba will once again be called upon to inspire his charges as Veteran Simeon Masaba offers the crucial back cover.
Owen Kasule, Erisa Ssekisambu and Moses Ali Feni are the other URA players likely to give the home side a run of their money.
SCVU Vs Bul – Namboole Stadium:
Club Victoria University hosts Jinja side, Bul. SCVU recorded a heart breaking 1 all draw at Namboole on Tuesday against Kira Young while Kefa Kisala’s Bul suffered a 1 -2 loss at Masaka.
SCVU is currently 2nd on the 16 team log (with 46 points from 25 games) while Bul is 7th with 40 points with the same number of games played (25).
Denis Iguma completes his 2 match ban (after red card in Masaka) while defender, Denis Okot starts his suspension today following a red card picked on Tuesday against Kira Young.
Express Vs Soana – Wankulukuk Stadium:
Previously, the opposition would sweat at just a mere glimpse of their fixture reading Wankulukuku stadium. The stadium was as intimidating as Hell. Express at Wankulukuku today is just any other ordinary team playing at that once dreaded base.
Therefore, as Wasswa Bbosa’s Express entertains Richard Makumbi’s Soana at Wankulukuku Stadium, the ground is leveled.
“This league is interesting. Anything is possible but we shall definitiely play for the 3 points”, Bbosa told Kawowo Sports in a specialinterview.
Record Champions at Nakivubo:
15 time League record winners, SC Villa plays Masaka L.C in another epic battle. Steven Bogere, head coach at SC Villa was overheard emphasiing the urge to look for goals early in the game and finish it off.
Sulait Luyimma is expected to start in goal ahead of Peter Kalumba. Arthur Mukisa, David Bagoole (young brother to Cranes star, Johnson Bagoole), skipper Ayub Kisaliita, Ronald Muganga and Vicent Emanayo will be SC villa’s top guns.
Police Vs Bight Stars / Simba Vs Entebbe:
At Kavumba Stadium in Wakiso, Angelo Lonyesi coached Police hosts Livingstone Mbabazi’s Bright Stars before Entebbe travels to the Military stadium in Bombo to play Simba.
Coach Alex Gitta (Entebbe f.c head tactician) hopes to extend his good league run with another routine victory in a quest to fight against relegation while Simba will still miss their head coach, Fred Kajoba (serving his last game off the touchline following a 5 match suspension for influencing the abandonment of Express Vs Simba in March).
