UGANDA CUP: KCC vs Lweza at Lugogo

FUFA Super league defending champions, Kampala City Council (KCC) football club come face to face with FUFA Big league side, Lweza at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo, this Saturday in the last quarter final match of the 2014 Uganda Cup.
Along the way, Lweza has already surprised a FUFA super league outfit, Bright Stars in the round of 32 before eliminating another fierce rival, Baza Holdings at the last 16 stage.
KCC on the other hand have shipped in the most number of goals in this year’s tournament.
Friends of Soccer were 9-0 victims at the round of 32 before Ntugamo’s Ntoda, who had earlier eliminated Simba f.c fell 1 -5 in Ntungamo.
Major Battles:
KCCA’s experienced squad is primary key for any championship seeking side. With defenders, Richard Malinga and Fahad Kawooya, midfielders, Tom Matsiko, Isaac Ntege and Ivan Ntege, strikers Herman Wasswa and William Wadri, there is need for the opposition to get set .
Micheal Birungi and Rogers Aloro are out injured but it is a boost that Brian Majwega and Tonny Odur were all pardoned and are available for selection following different cases of indiscipline.
Lweza itself has a crop of proven and tested players like former Vipers’ striker, Ddumba Sadala, Mahad Kakooza, Arthur Mukisa, Peter Kamanje and the youthful forwards – Saad Kibirango and John Kisaakye.
Already, the cup’s defending champion, Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU), FUFA Big league side, Jinja Municipal and Uganda Revenue Authority are through to the last 4 stage.
The winner between KCCA and Lweza is set to host SCVU on 9th May 2014 in the first of the two legged semi finals. The finals of the 2014 Uganda Cup will be held in Mbale at the Municipal Stadium.
