League defending champions, KCC, Sports Club Victoria University and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) all won in the FUFA Super league round of games played on 2nd May 2014.

Kampala City Council Authority football club (KCCA f.c) won away 0 – 1 to Bul at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja to consolidate top spot.

Tom Matisko’s first half goal ensured Victory for the defending champions in a match where referees arrived 20 minutes late of the expected kick off time.

KCC, who have played a game less than the chasing pack is now on 56 points, same as Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU), who won 3 – 1 over record champions, SC Villa.

Yassar Mugerwa, making his 22nd birthday opened the scoring for the University based side as early as the 10th minute. Left back, Isaac Muleme added the second 17 minutes later from a well converted freekick that goalie, Robert Kalumba could not tame as the ball spilled through his hands.

Striker,Ceaser Sapeo, in for the injured Noah Sseamakula (ankle) capped the icing on the University side’s cake before second half substitute, Moses Gale notched SC Villa’s consolation 20 minutes from full time.

Team skipper, Martin Mpuuga would have increased his team’s tally but he missed from the penalty spot after Sapeo had been felled in the area.

At the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi, James Kasibante scored URA’s lone strike to take the whole 3 points over the visiting Kira Young. URA the is now on 53 points, 3 short of the leaders.

Express’ great run in the league continued as Godfrey Lwesibawa’s first half goal condemned Proline to a tricky situation with 2 games to go for the latter side.

At Buikwe stadium, Vipers were held to a 1 all draw by Police f.c. Farouq Miya scored for the home team before Harunah Mulindwa got the visitors strike.

Masaka L.C and Bright Stars played to a non scoring draw at the Recreational Stadium in Masaka while at Wankulukuku Stadium, Entebbe f.c brighten their chances of surviving relegation after that 1 – 0 win over Soana.

Siraje Ssentamu scored for Entebbe in the 30th minute.

Simba beat the already relegated Mbale based side, CRO 2 – 0. Alex Witaba and Johnson Bagoole scored for the army side at Bombo Military grounds.

The league resumes on Sunday with 3 games on card. Proline hosts Bul f.c at Lugogo KCCA Stadium, Kira Young entertains KCCA at Namboole and Soana hosts Vipers at the Kavumba recreational Stadium.

The league will climax on Tuesday, 6th May 2014 with the final round of action at the different playing venues in the country.
