With the kick-off of the first regional City Tyres Chenga Challenge U-14 football championship organised Friends of Football(FOF) that was held last weekend in Lira, the tournament will move to West Nile this weekend with four academies and and two football clubs vying to be the second qualifiers of the four month football championship.
Lai Youngsters from Maracha, The Kids from Arua, Nebbi Junior Football Club from Nebbi, Yumbe Football Academy from Yumbe, Onduparaka Academy from DR Congo, Koboko Kids Football Club from Koboko will be tussling for the two slots to see who will represent their region at the finals to be held in Masaka from August 28-31.
Last weekend Gulu Junior Academy and Soccer Young Warriors booked their place in the grand finale in August.
Gulu Junior Academy was a 3-0 winner over Soccer Young Warriors with the two sides receiving a trophy and a cash prize of Ug.Shs.700.000 and Ug.Shs.300.000 respectively.
The best goalkeeper was Benjamin Opio from Destiny Sports Academy while the top scorer was Dennis Oloya from Gulu Junior Academy, the winners of the championship the most valuable player was Ivan Ochen from Gulu Junior Academy.
