Dolphins swimming club easily swept the Kenya Junior Swimming Championships for a third successive year as they showed their supremacy at the regional meet at the Aga Khan School from May 16-18 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The club that trains at Aga Khan Junior School in Kololo finished the championships with a overall 381 points over 29 clubs and schools from Kenya and Tanzania to emerge winners once again.
The championships that is held annual had boys and girls swimming in the age categories of 5-11 years with the Ugandan club claiming the overall title in the boys combined with a total of 234.50 points while the girls team finished second with 146.50 points beating a total of 23 teams that also included one from Tanzania.
But as a whole their were brilliant performances from their junior swimmers who also walked away with great positions at the end of the three day championships
Michelle Sine was second overall in the 7 and under girls category with a total of 10 po[pints while Nanette Nsereko, was fourth and Gabrielle Sine was fifth overall with 5 and 3 points respectively.
In the 10 years girls category Selina Katumba, was the best swimmer with a total of 25 points while Samora Lumonya, was third in the boys category with 7 points and Siegfred Katumwa was sixth with 3 points.
USPA swimmer of the year of 2012 Tendo Mukalazi, was the top boy swimmer in the category of 11 years with a total of 21 points with Adnan Kabuye finishing fourth with 5 points.
