Over 30 drivers have confirmed to take part in this year’s Race to Race Motorsport rally that takes place on Sunday 1st June at Busiika sports arena.

“We have over 35 drivers that have registered for this event and we are expecting good competition among them”. Juma Nkambwe an official from the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda(FMU) told Kawowo Sports.

“I would like to assure our fans that security will be a high note. We have dealt with Uganda Police to secure the entire place”. Nkambwe added.

Some of the registered drivers for the event include Jas Mangat the reigning national champion, Ronald Ssebuguzi (current National Rally Champion) and 2011 national champion Suzan Muwonge.

Others are Jonas Kansiime, Shafiq Ssemujju, Ismail Ortega, Fred Wampamba, Peter Kakaire, Jafari Kamya, Leila Mayanja and Wilberforce Pole Pole who recently penned down a 1 year contract with M-Sente, Yasin Mugabi and Rwandan ace Christakis Fitidis who has just recovered from a 6 months injury. Shafiq Ssemuju the sprint’s defending champion will also take part.

Fans will pay ugx 10,000 as entry fee. Registration of drivers ends on Friday 30th May.

The rally is organized by Central Motor Club (CMC) and Uganda Motorsport Safety Marshalls Association (UMSMA). It will be the 1st sprint event on the 2014 FMU Calender.

Next on the calender are Martyrs’ Day and Pearl of Africa rallies scheduled in June and August respectively.
