Swimmer of the year 2013 Kirabo Namutebi and Motocross cyclist of the year Fortune Sentamu, this morning have received their Rwenzori Water Uganda Sports Press Association awards at a brief ceremony at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala that was attended by section of sports scribes, USPA executive members and the sponsors of the sports body.
The two sports stars were crowned by the Uganda Sports Press Association president Mark Namanya and Rwenzori Water’s brand manager John Katete.
“We are happy to be part of sports in the country and we have supported quite a number of sports like tag rugby and others we believe our sponsorship is adding value to sports in the country,” Katete said at the ceremony. “You are the pillars for the future and we believe these awards will motivate you and other young sports stars in the country.”
Namutebi, is the swimmer of the year and swims for the national team and is a member of Dolphins swimming club. Sentamu is the motocross cyclist of the year and has just recovered from an injury and will be taking part this weekend in a racing event.
