St George football club convincingly won the Ethiopian super league after beating Sidama Coffe 1-0 in a mid week game played at Addis Ababa stadium.

“It feels great to be champions because it encourages you to double your efforts for more achievements”. Cranes and St George’s defender Isaac Isinde told Kawowo Sports.

Whereas there are five games yet to be played before end of season, St George who are locally known as Kedus Gorgis FC clinched the title with 58 points, 18 points above 2nd placed Ethiopia Bunna FC.

St George is not only home to Ugandan duo of Isaac Isinde and Robert Odongkara, but is former employee to Denis Onyango, Joseph Kabagambe, Mike Sserumaga and Sula Matovu. Kedus Gorgis FC which was founded in 1935 will play in CAF champions league next season.
