Not many gave the Cranes a 100% chance to leave Antananarivo as winners against a lowly ranked Madagascar. But one thing they hoped for was a result that would culminate into arousing hope and confidence for progress come Saturday’s AFCON 2015 Qualifier return leg at Namboole.

Coach Micho Sredojevic’s side will come from the dugout in search of a 1-0 score line to out-muscle Madagascar’s 2-1 first leg victory at the Rabemananjara Stadium a fortnight ago. Playing cautiously at home is one thing that few Africa footballing giants would listen to.

Of course, 86th Fifa ranked Uganda not being among the lions in the jungle, the Cranes would try it out at their own peril. Not that I underestimate the Barea from the Indian Ocean but, Micho should show some bravery in his line-up that will don the newly launched but controversial red jersey.

Before any reader throws a tantrum, why go for a thick midfield of three players such as Tonny Mawejje, Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito and Khalid Aucho and possibly opening on one wing of Moses Oloya.

In need of goals to kill off the opposition at home, Micho can drop Aucho for possibly Brian Majwega to help out of a likely loose left back Joseph Ochaya.

If you said no, when did Uganda last have a commanding result? And if it was to come, is there is any easier opposition a 5-0 hammering including a possible hat-trick from sure starter Geoffrey Massa would come against than Madagascar? Or should we wait the day Uganda will be mapped on the same continent with Tahiti? PREDICTION: Uganda 3-1 Madagascar
