Uganda VS Equatorial Guinea

Following Equatorial Guinea’s 3 – 0 home victory on Sunday over Mauritania on Sunday, Uganda’s opponent in the next round of qualifiers is now known.
The Nzalang Nacional stars overcame a 0 – 1 goal deficit at the hands of Mauritania in the first leg win 3 – 1 on aggregate and book a berth with CECAFA’s best ranked team, Uganda.
Uganda had on Saturday beat Indian Ocean nation, Madagascar 1 – 0, courtesy of a 12th minute by striker, Geofrey Massa to qualify to the next phase of qualification.
The winner between Uganda and Equatorial Guinea over the two legs will join Ghana, Togo and Guinea in the last qualification hurdle, with the best team assured of a slot in next year’s championships that will be held in Morocco.
The Cranes will host the first leg between 18th – 20th July 2014 at Namboole Stadium before the return leg at either the 37500 Bata Stadium (on main land) or the 15250 seater Nuevo Estadio in Malabo, an island city in the Pacific Ocean.
Currently rated at 119 out of the 207 FIFA members, Equatorial Guinea, who co-hosted the 2012 African Nations Cup with Gabon boost of a large number of Spanish nationalised players.
