The 2014 Nile special National open pool championship mini qualifiers have almost covered past the half way mark.

As expected, there have been obvious cases of successful qualification stories and definitely the surprises.

A look at the forthcoming round of regional qualifiers in the weeks to comes indicates famous faces as the 2008 finalist, Wasswa Kayiiya, a former seed 3.

Kayiya, who qualified at Jakaranda in Wakaliga also returned to the same venue which is will also host the Rubaga regional qualifiers from Monalisa Mengo, sunset pub Natete, Pacify Wakaliga, Cizelle Pub Natete, Monalisa Rubaga and Wing Bar, Wakaliga.

He was joined by unknown players in the names of Leonard Kamuntono, Hassan Mubiru and Idi Ssenyonyi.

At Indigo pool bar in the heart of Kampala, the mini qualifiers on Saturday drew a mammoth crowd.

There were no surprises apart from last year’ s Runner up qualifier Musumba Jacob who lost to Tomusange Alex in the third round.

Vincent Sekibule Vincent who won last year’s indigo qualifiers also passed through min – qualifiers stage after winning his team mate Swalik Nsubuga.

The Indigo pool club player who was joined by his teammate Ssekibule Bukenya and Alex Tomusange and Sunna Majid. Sekibule, Bukenya and Tomusange will be key players at the regional that will be held on 4th July 2014.

The regional’s will see different politicians playing from different areas like earlier we witnessed Aru County MP Hon Odong Otto who qualified at Muggies Ntinda and this weekend Mbale Town RDC Nalyanya Henry qualified at Wimpy Hotel on Friday.

I have tried this for a long time and I always loose before reaching to the final but this time am going to try my level best to see that am among the qualifiers at Catalina’’ Otto testified.
