Minister of Education and Sports, Hon Jessica Alupo will be the chief guest at the 22nd edition of the Aporu Okol International Volleyball Championships.
According to the organizers — Spike International Limited, the Minister will preside over the closing ceremony on Sunday. “It was great when we had the news that Hon Alupo had honored our invitation,” said Spike director George Aporu. “We have been working around the clock to have a well organized tournament and I must say all is set, the minister’s presence will give the tournament the crowning it deserves,” Aporu added.
According to a press release from Spike, Hon Alupo was invited by Uganda Volleyball Federation Patron and Minister of State for Teso Affairs Hon Christine Amongin Aporu.
Sport-S come to this tournament as the men’s defending champions after defeating Nemostars at last year’s final.
Ndejje Elites are the women holders after defeating Nkumba 3-2 in the finals held at Boma Grounds The tournament starts this Friday with the primary schools’ category then clubs and secondary schools will commence on Saturday, It will go until Sunday evening.
