Uganda Cranes striker Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma has made it clear he is not interested in a move to Gor Mahia rivals AFC Leopards.
The 2014 CECAFA Nile Basin runners up had shown interest in luring the striker from K’Ogalo as a suitable replacement for Allan Wanga who crossed to Sudan club El Merriekh but Sserunkuma says he is happy at Gor Mahia FC and doesn’t see himself playing for rivals at any one time in his career.
“I don’t see myself ever playing for Leopards’ because of the rivalry between the two clubs,” Sserunkuma is quoted by Goal.com.
“It would look like a betrayal to Gor Mahia and furthermore, I have a contract and I am happy here. I enjoy everything at Gor Mahia from the passionate fans to the way we play and I have no intentions of leaving K’Ogalo soon,” he added.
This comes as a blow to AFC Leopards vice chairman Patrick Ngaira who had already prepared a bid for the ex-Nairobi City Stars player.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports indicate that AFC Leopards are also monitoring Ugandan strikers Francis Olaki (Soana FC) and Herman Wasswa (KCC FC) with a possible view of landing at least one.
