Uganda’s rally trio of Duncan “Kikankane” Mubiru, Shafik Semujju and Hajji Abdul Sempebwa are bubbling with confidence ahead of the fourth round of the Africa Rally Championship (ARC), Oryx Energy Rally of Tanzania which gets underway this Friday June 13.

For Mubiru, it’s just a move to test self against the best drivers on the continent whilst Semujju and Sempebwa are making their debut in the ARC after missing out on the previous three rounds despite registering for this year’s championship.
“This is a good opportunity for me to test myself against some top drivers in Africa,” Mubiru who left for Dar es Salaam on Tuesday told Kawowo Sports.

Without doubt, Kikankane has an opportunity to fight for the podium with Ivorian Gary Chaynes who leads the ARC standings at the moment, former champions Essa Mohammed, Rwanda’s Giancarlo Davite and Kenya’s Jaspreet Chatthe.

The event which has attracted 21 drivers across the continent has a total of 501.47km of which 237.55km spread over 16 competitive sections (CS). It opens with a super special stage (SSS) of 1.45km on Friday.
