‘Musota’ is a ganda name that literally means snake. It is a nick name to pool player, David Owori.

Owori lived to the billing of his name as he spiked all his other contestants as he easily won the Nile Special national pool qualifiers held at Capital Pub in Kabalagala.

“I am happy to have made it once again”, a visibly excited Musota attested to Kawowo Sports.

He beat surprise package, Ronald Waligo 4 – 1 in the finals to take the Ug.shs 150,000 cash prize and a medal, handed to him by the Nile Special brand manger, Timothy Kayondo, who was flanked by the Pool President, Farouq Kisuze Wamala.

Waligo smiled home with Ug.shs 50,000 and was joined by Richard ‘Nigeria’ Onen as the three finalists from Capital Pub.

There was action at Premier pub at Kasanga where the deaf Ivan Kanyesigye beat all to qualify.

The national pool open championships is the biggest and most lucrative pool event organized by the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU).

The finals are set to be held on September 6th 2014 at the Lugogo indoor arena with 128 pool players.

Action moves to Entebbe road at the Shooters Pub today (Saturday).
