National Insurance Corporation (NIC) humiliated debutant Maroons netball club 99-08 in a one sided national super league game played over the weekend at Namboole stadium.

The win saw the 2013 Africa’s best shooter and ex Uganda Christian University star Peace Proscovia net 32 goals for NIC, and extending her tally to 90 goals in just two league games. Hadijah Nakabuye and Barbra were also on the score sheet.

“We still have other big games ahead and we look forward to continue with winning” NIC player Desire Birungi said shortly after the game.

NIC, who had earlier on defeated Uganda Police 54-38, went on top of the log with 6 points, tied with UPDF who also beat KCCA 51-32.

In other results, Posta registered its second win of the season after defeating TLC 51-32 and glued in 4th position, whereas, Prisons beat UCU 39-26 to go 5th on the table.

Kawempe workers continued with their appalling run as they went down 12-49 to Blue Star. The former lie at the bottom of the log with no point earned after three games played; see the entire table standings and next fixtures below.
