Uganda’s top lady golfer Flavia Namakula, Tanzania’s Angel Eaton and top lady golf prospect Brenda Tuhaise Ngabo, have landed a Pepsi sponsorship for a European lady golf training tour to Netherlands that will last a month.

The sponsorship was announced this afternoon at a brief ceremony at the Uganda Golf Club by Pepsi’s Brand Executive Tracy Kakuru, the Uganda Golf Club lady captain Dr Katy Kabenge and the Uganda Ladies Golf Union president Esther Okullo, together with Pepsi’s Brand manager Timothy Luzinda.

During their stay in Netherlands they will play on several golf courses with the aim of improving their game and giving them the necessary exposure. Crown Beverages under their brand Pepsi Cola has sponsored the training to a tune of 10.5 million shillings. 

“I am grateful for the sponsorship which will give us the opportunity of training on world class courses as seek for exposure on the world stage,” Namakula said at the press conference. “I strongly believe this training is going to improve my game and I believe when I return I will my game will be different.” 

The three ladies depart on Wednesday and will be hosted by Johan Pader, the Chief Executive Officer of Amarant Bakker, a company that has a long standing relationship with the maker of Pepsi-Cola products in Uganda.

Eaton, is the Uganda Ladies Open defending champion while Namakula, is the Uganda Sports Press Association Lady golfer of the year 2013 while Ngabo, is a handicap 22 and is a upcoming star lady golfer who will travel to Netherlands to develop her talent further and enchance her skills.

“We are glad for the sponsorship that we have received for the lady golfers and we encroach more girls to take up the game of golf,” Esther Okullo the ULGU president said.
