Jas Mangat will keep his fans waiting as his participation in the SMC Challenge Rally at  the weekend in Mukono awaits confirmation.

Mangat is yet to confirm if he will take part in the fourth-leg of the National Rally Championship (NRC)

Despite registering for the event, the reigning NRC winner is still unsure of his presence come Saturday.

“It is true I registered but I can only confirm my participation tomorrow after sorting out a few issues with the car,” Mangat said without fully revealing the car’s condition.

With 400 points still at stake, Mangat’s participation would raise the possibility of a third straight championship for the driver who won four straight rallies on his way to the title last year.

Thirty drivers have registered for the fourth of the seven round championship including leader Ronald Ssebuguzi (251 points) and second placed Jonas “Matayo” Kansiime (208 points).

Third placed Duncan ‘Kinkane’ Mubiru meanwhile misses out as he will not be able to score championship points in the event.

The driver had requested to substitute the fourth round of NRC for the rally of Tanzania which carried more points but dropped out and consequently failed earn any points.

The two day 319km rally is expected to start with a super special stage at Festino City in Mukono before covering the districts of Kampala, Mukono, Wakiso and Luweero the following day.
