There will be ear to ear smiles from many an ardent rugby follower in Uganda. The Uganda Rugby Union has today received a hefty sponsorship package from Nile Breweries and Sheraton Hotel ahead of the Elgon Cup encounter against Kenya on Saturday at Kyadondo Rugby Club.
The package worth Ush 50M was revealed today a press briefing at Sheraton Kampala Hotel. “As Sheraton we are proud to be associated with the Uganda Rugby Union and the Elgon Cup in particular. This platform gives us an avenue to make an impact on society.’’ Sheraton’s John Bograkos said.
The package is in kind and covers aspects such as accommodation for both teams – full board, access to gym facilities for the rugby Cranes, hospitality at the game and hosting the post game dinner.
John Bograkos also added that Sheraton’s sponsorship is merely a continuation of the hotels association with the Ruby Union.

The URU president Andrew Owor expressed gratitude towards Sheraton support pledging to explore all avenues of building the sport in order to make rugby a more attractive platform for the other partners to come on board. He also promised a value –for-money performance from the team.
At the same press briefing, Nile Special. The team’s major sponsor, also unveiled a new kit for Rugby Cranes. The Nile Breweries Sponsorship manager Isaac Sekasi rallied fans to attend the game in numbers and back the team to victory.
