AFCON 2015 Qualifier:
Mauritania Vs Uganda (Uganda leads 2 – 0 from first leg)
Sun, 3rd August 2014
At Olympic Stadium Conforment, Nouakchott
Kickoff: 4 pm in Mauritania (7 pm in Uganda)

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sedrojevic recalled Valur FC midfielder, Tonny Mawejje for the AFCON return leg against Mauritania.

“I am one person who believes in Mawejje’s positive contribution to the Uganda Cranes. His experience and match temperament are key. Besides, his current form is now superb. He will surely help us in the return leg”, Micho told Kawowo Sports after the team’s training session on Thursday morning.

The former Masaka and URA midfielder who came on as a substitute against Madagascar was also omitted by the technical team from the Cranes team for the weekend win over Mauritania.

Mawejje last weekend made a remarkable personal return to Iceland. Despite his team’s 1 – 4 defeat at the hands of KR Reykjavik in Iceland’s premier division, Mawejje scored Valur’s only consolation.

Khalid Aucho Boost
Another midfielder returning to the team is Tusker f.c holding midfielder, Khalid Aucho. “Khalid is featuring in the KPL and his form is impressive”, Micho says of the player who missed Mauritania’s first leg due to suspension.
