Mike Sekabembe produces an emphatic performance to beat Ghanaian opponent Haruna Osumanu in the men’s super-heavyweight quarter-finals at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Sekabembe dominated the three rounds, even showing off a ‘double punch’ as he whitewashed the 34-year-old Ghanaian in all three rounds at the Scotland Excellence and Conference Center.

To show his dominance, all the jury scored in favour of the UPDF sergeant with match referee Danny McFarlane returning 30-25 while R.Just and T.Gogotchuri both had their cards reading 30-26.

The exuberant Ugandan also found time to join in with the crowd and dance along to a Neil Diamond song between rounds two and three.

His progress confirms the Ugandan will earn at least a bronze medal irrespective of the semifinal result on Friday against Englishman Joyce Joseph, whom he had a chance to watch as he defeated Scottish Ross Anderson.
