Rayon Sport (Rwanda) 1-0 Atlabara FC (South Sudan)
Rayon Sport have topped group A thanks to a hard earned 1-0 victory over South Sudan’s Atlabara FC in a closely contested fixture at Kigali Regional stadium, Nyamirambo.
Govin Mutombo scored the only goal late in the 87th minute to ensure Rayon top Group A with ten points which means Azam could only finish second despite an emphatic 4-1 win earlier in the day.
The result also means Leo Adraa’s Atlabara qualify to the quarter- finals in third place and the first South Sudan side to go into the knock out stage and await the winners of Group B in the next round.
The last games of the group stage will take place on Sunday with Uganda’s KCC FC playing APR a game they must win to ensure they top Group B while Gor Mahia play Telecom with the latter still in the contention for a knock out berth if they beat the KPL side by a two goal margin.
