Uganda Cup Finals Shield: Jinja Hippos Vs Sheraton Stallions, 2.00PM
Main Cup: Kobs Vs Protector Heathens, 4.30PM 2013/2014
Rugby Premiership Champions, Kobs face first runners up, Heathens as both sides renew rivalry at Legends Rugby Grounds on Saturday.
Kobs booked the final’s slot after a close semi final encounter against Ezee Money Rhinos, brought to life by Ivan Mugira’s penalty in the nick of time to secure 14-13 victory.
On the other hand, Uganda Cup defending Champions, Heathens ruthlessly beat Toyota Buffaloes 24-03 in the other semi final setting up fresh opportunity to clinch 9th title since 1999.
Kobs have not had their hands on the trophy since 2012, despite having last won the accolades for three consecutive years from 2010.
Unlike Heathens who are expected to rely on Michael Wokorach, Alex Mubiru and Chris Lubanga to garner second successive trophy since 2004, Kobs promise a tougher battle for 7th accolade of the competition.
Captain Brian Odongo believes hard work will upstage their rivals along with maintenance of the stellar performances from teammates, Kevin Makmot, Joseph Aredo, Michael Amollo, and Ivan Kirabo.
Heathens must be heading into this highly anticipated final match with intentions of revenge on the back of double 19-11 and 14-13 losses to Kobs Away and at Home respectively last Rugby Premiership season.
