Uganda Cubs 5 – 1 Tranova Academy (Gaba)

Uganda U-17 head coach, Matia Lule remains optimistic of a positive result for his charges ahead of the upcoming CAF U-17 qualifier away in Zambia come the 13th September 2014.

“We are still working out on a few modalities and polishing up each department of the team”, Lule told Kawowo Sports.

The U-17 team, currently at Njeru Technical center played a friendly game with Tranova Academy, a football school based in Gaba.

The national junior team won the game  5 -1 with strikes coming off the feet of left winger, Pius Obuya, 15 year old Ezra Bidda, Airtel Rising stars’ Willy Peter Ocen,Peter Lusimbula and Steven Okot Steven.

Lule believes the team has worked superbly on agility and speed and will polish up on the few other aspects of the game in the remaining days to the Zambian fixture.

The winner between Uganda and Zambia over the two legs will make it to the AFCON 2015 finals to be hosted in Niger.

The four semi finalists in Niger will represent Africa at the FIFA World Under 17 championships in Chille.
