Uganda’s top tennis players Duncan Mugabe and David Oringa, will have to be at their best when the Rak Tie Break Tennis Championship swings into action tomorrow at the Lugogo tennis center.
Mugabe, has been drawn as the top seed of the tournament with Oringa being seeded number 2 while Rwanda’s Jean Claude Gasigwa is seed 3 in the $4,500(sh11.7) dollar knock-out tournament that will see players playing short tie break games.
The winner of the tournament that is both men and ladies will get $ 1,000(sh2.6m).
The tournament is an initiative of Rak Ceramics and Sanitaryware Limited titled the RAK Tie Break Tennis championship 2014, the players play the best of 3 tie-breaks to decide the winner.
Kenya Open champion Ismael Changawa is the tournament’s seed four while Uganda’s Moses Otiti, is the tournament’s seed five. Four categories of Tie-Break Tennis are being organized, Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Boys Singles and Girls Singles(under 18).
