AFCON 2015 QUALIFIER: Wed, 10th September 2014:
Uganda Vs Guinea – (7:30 PM in Uganda, 4:30PM in Guinea), Namboole Stadium
Having missed the Saturday Afcon 2015 away fixture, where Uganda held Ghana to a 1 all draw in Kumasi, tricky fast paced left winger, Brian Majwega, who was left behind due to a nagging ankle injury returns after being passed fit.
“Majwega has been doing well in training. He feels now more, can dribble and sprint with ease”, Frank Anyau, the coach who was left behind to monitor his progress revealed to Kawowo Sports.
Majwega, midfielder, Allan Kyambadde, goalie Benjamin Ochan, were left in camp at Sky hotel and have been conducting private training sessions under the watchful eyes of coach Anyau.
They were latter joined by defender Portuguese based left footed defender Alex Kakuba and South African based striker, Geofrey Massa.
Proving their worth:
Upon the team’s return early Monday morning, Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho‘ Sedrojevic said all the players in camp will have to prove their worth ahead of selection for the Wednesday game.
“No player has an automatic slot on the team. The best will be picked for the Guinea match”, Micho told Kawowo Sports, shortly after arrival at Entebbe International Airport.
Guinea arrived early Monday morning amidst thorough health checks at Entebbe International Airport.
The Guinea team is accomodated at J – Flight Hotel in Makerere and will train at Lugogo on Monday evening.
