There were concerns for the Uganda Cubs team as lead striker, Muhammed ‘Jaggason’ Shaban sat out the entire Thursday training session at Nakivubo Stadium.
“Shaban had a slight knock on the knee and we decided to rest him not to risk our cards”, Matia Lule, the team head coach told Kawowo Sports.
The latest news from the Uganda Cubs camp indicate that the proven goal poacher is ready to participate in the team’s last training session at Nakivubo Stadium on Friday morning.
“He feels much better and will definitely take part in the team’s last training session”, Jack Walugembe, the team doctor disclosed to Kawowo Sports.
Shaban provides the urgency and hunger for the goals in Uganda’s desperate quest to overturn a 0 – 2 goal deficit against Zambia on Saturday.
His pace and eye for goal will be key for the team aspects for the Uganda Cubs against the Young Chipolopolo.
Shaban has developed a made in Heaven combination with his twin striking partner – Charles Ssebutinde.
The Ugandan youngsters will conduct their last training session at Nakivubo in the morning before Zambia feels the match day turf later in the afternoon.
The match will take place on Saturday at Nakivubo Stadium with the winner qualifying to the CAF U-17 finals in Niger.
