Friday 3, October 2014 SC Villa Vs URA FC, Ssaza Ground, Mityana – @ 4.30pm

Two days after his appointment, SC Villa new coach Sam Ssimbwa starts work against five time champions URA FC in the UPL at Ssaza Ground, Mityana on Friday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, the nomadic coach who won the 2011/12 championship with Express FC sounded cautious but insists he wants to start with victory.

“I have only been with the team for two days so expect no changes,” he told Kawowo Sports. “Nevertheless, like any new coach, my goal is to win my first game but I believe it won’t come easy,” he added.

Ssimbwa finds the Jogoos 3rd on the log with 6 points from three fixtures and his first task will be to ensure the side returns to winning ways after losing 2-1 to Police FC in the previous game which ultimately cost Ssimbwa’s predecessor Steven Bogere the job.

Unlike SC Villa which has won two games so far, URA FC is yet to pick maximum points after drawing their two opening fixtures (1-1 vs Bright Stars & 0-0 vs Sadolin Paints FC).

However, the tax collectors’ tactician Alex Isabirye is confident of his side will soon get their winning ‘mojo’.

“Of course as a coach, am under pressure after the two draws but that will soon be history,” Isabirye said.

On the SC Villa game, Isabirye said; “We are facing a new look side, 3rd on the table, beaming with confidence and having a new coach but our target is pick victory when we play them,” he urged.

TEAM NEWS:

Both teams have no injury worries but coach Ssimbwa is expected to make a few changes from the team that lost to Police FC.

Skipper Isaac Kirabira is the one expected to give way to David Bagoole.

On the side of URA FC, Alex Isabirye has confirmed that Simeon Masaba will be rested and replaced by Deo Otieno at right back.

KEY PLAYERS:

Karim Ndugwa (SC Villa) – The most in form player in the league at the moment. Three goals in three games for the former Victors FC player.

Robert Ssentongo (URA FC) – A player for the big occasion with a knack for scoring in big games. He is the only URA FC player with a goal in the campaign so far.
