Dolphins Swimming Club, retained the Excel Insurance Independence Swimming Gala on Sunday for a second year running and beating a total of 19 schools to claim the overall crown at the Kampala International School of Uganda, swimming arena in Bukoto.
Dolphins, completed back to back wins by claiming the Excel Insurance Independence swimming bagging a total of 1,138 points.
The Aga Khan school based club was dominant as they retained there crown in the water by claiming most of the individual awards in the Uganda Swimming Federation organised gala.
Seals Swim Club finished runners-up with a total of 869 points while International School of Uganda was third with a total of 831 points Ndejje Piranhas Swim Club and Makerere University completed the top five slots with 276 and 252 points respectively.
A total of 20 clubs took part in the two day swimming gala that had a total of 600 swimmers participating in 120 events it various age categories. The sponsors Excel Insurance plan together with the swimming governing body to make the event and international one next year.
