3rd Pepsi Independence Day Golf Tourney:

Three professionals, Vincent Byamukama, Herman Mutawe and Denis Anguyo have scored a total of 73 gross to take a joint lead in the opening round in the ongoing Pepsi Independence Golf day tournament taking place at the Palm Valley Golf Course.
The trio is two strokes over par leading the chasing pack of George Olayo by just two strokes.
Action at the 9 hole course teed off the 3rd edition of the Pepsi Independence day golf with the professional category on Tuesday.
It is still too close to count to pre-determine the winner as the final round of 18 holes is yet to be played.
Whereas Anguyo had the best fore course scores of 35 total gross, Mutawe returned the best back nine scores of 36 gross
Denis Anguyo is last year’s defending champion.
The top 9 professionals will make the cut for the share of the sponsor’s U.shs 10.8 M kitty.
The main event of the tourney where close to 200 golfers have already confirmed participation, will take place on the Thursday, 9th October 2014.
The event is sponsored by Crown Beverages limited under the brand of Pepsi.
