Denis Mbidde has been voted as the Uganda Premier League Chairperson by the clubs. Mbidde, representing SC Villa as chairman beat Vipers Chairman Tadius Kitandwe to the post that has been vacant since Mujib Kasule relinquished the post when Proline was relegated in May 2013.
Mbidde tallied two thirds of the electorate beating Kitandwe in the election. Mbidde’s election is however subject to the approval of the FUFA annual general assembly that will seat in Lira next week.
Once the assembly approves Mbidde’s election, he will also automatically become FUFA’s Vice President (in charge of the Uganda Premier League). Some clubs (Express, Lweza, Soana, SCVU and Police) however did not attend.
