Zambian based Ugandan International Tony Odur will have reasons to smile this season after his new club, Nkana Football Club reached the finals of the 2014 Barclays Cup.

Nkana defeated Konkola Blades 2 – 0 in Saturday’s semifinal, thanks to goals scored in the last five minutes of the first half by Claude Bwalya and Simon Bwalya. Odur missed the tie due to an injury he got last month.

Yesterday’s victory lands Nkana a chance to win the competition as consolation for failing to defend the league they won last season.

Elsewhere, Zesco United left it late to book a place with a 1-0 victory over Napsa Stars in the other semifinal also played on Saturday.

Substitute Mathews Nkowani rose highest to head home from a corner delivered by fellow substitute Mwape Mwelwa in added time to for the Ndola based outfit to reach the final for the first time since 2010.

Zesco United is Zambia’s most successful team in this championship having won the competition in 2007, 2008 and 2010.

The final is scheduled for November 22 at a yet to be named venue
