Former lightweight world title challenger Sharif “The Lion” Bogere, returns to the ring in a 10 round non-title fight with Mexican Fernando “Cuervito” Garcia on 30 October at the Memorial Hall, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA.
It will be the Las Vegas based Ugandan fighter’s third fight in the year as he seeks to rise in the lightweight division and reclaim his status as a top contender in all the world boxing bodies in the world.
“I am in top shape and ready for the fight I have been sparring with former Olympians and world champions here in Las Vegas,” Bogere said. “I have enjoyed the intense training with my trainers and coaches am looking forward to the fight.”
Bogere has been sparring with Chris Algieri ahead of his showdown with super star Manny Pacquiao, who are contesting for the vacant WBO World welterweight title next month.
Bogere goes into the non-title contest with a record of 25-1(17 KOs) while his Mexican opponent is 29-6(18 KOs) initially the Ugandan pugilist was supposed to fight Aaron Melgarejo, who pulled out of the fight.
