Ndejje University Angels are nearly into this year’s Airtel National Basketball League playoffs. What seemed unlikely during the five-game slide is now a near certainty. That is the benefit of winning back-to-back games when it matters.
The Angels have beaten their direct rivals for the final two post season places in the two games. First it was Sharing Youths on Wednesday and Charging Rhinos on Sunday evening.
Forward, Geoffrey Soro whose season has been under-par just stepped up in time. The 2012 regular season MVP dropped 27 points on Sharing and poured in season high 33 points on a 12-for-17 shooting from the field in the 89-77 win over Rhinos on Sunday.
Ndejje, Sharing and Rhinos will fight for the two unconfirmed playoffs places an the regular season enters its final week.
Meanwhile, Diamonds in the Sun were condemned to division one by UCU Canons following the 61-77 loss to the university side. UCU’s forward, Jonathan Egau scored game 22 points to send DITS back to Division I. Maurice Otedro, Ronald Bajunga and Emmanuel Odonkara’s 15, 13 & 13 couldn’t save Diamonds.
