Bul FC 1 – 0 Lweza
BUL football club has overcome Uganda Premier League debutant side, Lweza 1 – 0 in a closely contested affair played at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja on Tuesday.
Midfielder Farouk Osama’s 30th minute penalty was the lone strike of the day that gives Kefa Kisala his 3rd victory of the season.
The penalty arose after a handball foul by Lweza defender, Swaibu Mudde in the forbidden area.
Osama, the record transfer for the Jinja based outfit comfortably stepped up and drove the ball to goal keeper Mulindwa Muwonge’s right despite his effort to dive at the intended shot.
“The victory is a big relief to the team given the earlier draws held” Kisala told Kawowo Sports.
Lweza made all efforts to make amends though poor finishing from strikers, Saad Kibirango and Francis Ssembatya cost the team dear.
Mike Sserumaga came closest to scoring but his fierce shot from 30 yards was easily parried for a corner by the home team goal custodian, Franco Oringa.
Lweza coach Vialli Bianomugisha attributed his team’s unfortunate result to the missed opportunities.
Lweza F.C remains glued 10th while Bul displaces Bright Stars in the 6th.
Bright Stars lost 0 – 1 to Kira Young at Namboole stadium.
