KCC FC 3-0 SCVU

KCC FC earned their first ever league victory over SC Victoria University following a 3-0 win in an entertaining game played at Lugogo on Tuesday afternoon.

Derrick Nsibambi who started as the lead striker in the absence of Brian Umony scored a brace after Tom Masiko opened the scoring for George ‘Best’ Nsimbe’s side.

Masiko who started his first game of the season after a long injury lay off put the hosts’ into the lead in the 13th minute converting a penalty after Derrick Nsibambi was fouled in the 18 yard area.

Nsibambi turned scorer in the 44th minute heading home Brian Majwega’s cross and less than 120 seconds later, the number 9 made it 3-0 to ensure the champions took a first lead.

The second half saw Morley Byekwaso’s side dominate possession but couldn’t break down a resilient KCC FC backline led by Richard Kasagga.

Victory is KCC FC’s third in a row following an indifferent start that saw them win just once in four fixtures and lifts them to 4th on the table with 14 point from 7 fixtures played whilst SCVU now slips to 12th.

REACTIONS:

George Nsimbe – KCC FC coach.

My boys put up a fantastic performance today and deserved the win. Our opponents asked all sorts of questions but we had answers

Morley Byekwaso – SCVU coach

The score line doesn’t reflect what really happened on the pitch but that is football. We created more chances than KCC FC and we would have gone home smiling with at least a point on any other day but that is football.
