El Merriekh goalie Jamal Salim is a happy man after earning his call up for national team duty ahead of the international friendly against Ethiopia on Sunday.
The ex-Express FC and KCC FC custodian has enjoyed a good season in Sudan where he helped El Merriekh win the CECAFA Kagame Cup and Sudan Cup despite losing the league to rivals El Hilal by a point.
Playing for the national team is the pinnacle of any footballer and am happy to be part of the team, I have waited for this moment patiently and thankfully my hard work has been recognized. Next is to work hard in training to impress the coaches
Jamal; a former U-20 goalie is one of the best upcoming goalkeepers but has much respect for his colleagues in the business.
We’re blessed as a country to have so many talented goal keepers. I have so much respect for my colleagues and willing to learn from them in training
Jamal is already in the country after the Sudanese league season ended last week.
