Entebbe Golf club will this Saturday definitely be like a bee hive of activity.

The subsidiary group of the prestigious Entebbe Golf open tees off at East Africa’s oldest golf course.

Close to 200 golfers will be in action as the gross players and the East African shield players climax at the Par 71 lake side golf course in Entebbe.

The professional event was completed on Friday with Jinja based pro, Emmanuel Opio Onito carrying the day with 149 gross over 36 holes.

The main focus now turns to the subsidiary golf event as the gross and the inaugural East African Golf shield action climaxes.

National team golfer, Willy Deus Kitata comes into the 4th and final round of the gross players carrying a one stroke lead over Robert Oluba.

Kitata has 221 gross over three rounds with Oluba following 222 and Patrick Mwaka on 227.

The East African Shield event can virtually be counted as good as finished as Kenya carries a 32 stroke lead (656) over Uganda (688) as Rwanda and Burundi follow closely with 731 and 779 respectively.
