The Cranes will have to wait for at least two more years before featuring at the finals of Africa Nations Cup.

This is after what many dubbed as the ‘easiest’ campaign in recent years also ended in tears as The Cranes could only manage a 3rd place finish in group E after losing to Guinea in their penultimate match in which a draw would have ended a 37 year wait.

Uganda has played 10 matches in the campaign which started on May 18 this year with an away loss to Madagascar.

In all those 10 matches, Cranes coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has used 26 players (those that at least got playing time bar unused substitutes) while 28 didn’t kick a ball.

This brings the total of all players Micho summoned for the entire campaign to 54 in a space of five (5) months.

Kawowo Sports’ Ismael Kiyonga followed the campaign closely and writes the line up for each game and at the end; players summoned but didn’t feature in games.
