Uganda Cranes’ immediate task at hand will not be the upcoming 2016 CHAN, AFCON 2017 qualifiers and finals, CECAFA Championships nor any other competitions.

Emphasis has been thus stressed on the 2019 AFCON finals that will be held by the West African nation of Cameroon.
 
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has come up with a new project tagged ‘Cameroon 2019’.
 
Moses Magogo, FUFA president remarked:
We have started the journey afresh and today, I declare the new project – Cameroon 2019. The tournaments in between will be used as preparations for our intended goal
FUFA has, to this cause, organized the first National Football workshop meant to get ideas of how best the nation will get along the road.
 
The workshop will be held on the 24th – 25th of January 2015 in Kampala.
 
Special invitations have been sent to several African nations – Ghana, Cape Verde and a South American nation – Costa Rica.

Magogo also used the platform to castigate all those individuals whose objectives is to mud sling and character assassinate, adding:
Our football does not need wars. Football development needs unity of all major stake holders for prosperity. We believe Cameroon 2019 is a realistic and achievable project
Uganda has not qualified for the African Nations Cup for the last 36 years when the Cranes played in the finals held in Ghana.
 
Uganda lost 0 – 2 in the final match against the host nation, Ghana in 1978.
