Bangi traveled without her coach William Kabindi for the fourth time in space of two months but she is, nonetheless, confident.

Bangi will also pair with Zambian Ogar Siamupangila in the women doubles; she has won gold before in the doubles of the Nigerian and mixed doubles of the Ethiopian Internationals.
Meanwhile, Ekiring takes on Ethiopian Daniel Sam in the first round; which puts him on a collision course with either Zambian Obbery Kunda Mulenga or Gaone Tawana from Botswana. The latter is also the tournament’s fourth seed. The Netherlands-based Ekiring said;
