Cecafa vice president Lawrence Mulindwa, has donated a brand new trophy and give the UPDF five set of uniforms together with 60 balls to be used in the CDF Cup that will be held from December 11-18 in Mbarara.
Mulindwa handed the sports donation to the Chief of Defense Forces General Edward Katumba Wamala during the promotion, farewell and welcoming on the UPDF officers at the Army head-quarters at Mbuya on Wednesday.
“I would like to thank Mulindwa for this parental gesture,” Wamala said in his speech. “I know we have a team in the Uganda Premier League they are not doing too well, but we are going to sit down with the director of sports and see how best we can perform.”

The CDF Cup is contested by army units in the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces and the defending champion is Bombo. The Former FUFA president was replacing the previous trophy that he had donated six year’s ago.
“The advantage with the forces is you have an organised, disciplined and patriotic group of people that are easy to lead to sports victory,” Mulindwa said.
