Uganda’s top tennis player Duncan Mugabe, returned to the ITF Futures circuit featuring at the ITF Senegal F1 Futures in Dakar losing his first round encounter to Frenchman and seed 6 Jordan Ubiergo, 6-0, 5-7, 7-6(4) as he builds-up for the All Africa Games next year in Brazzaville, Congo.
The Ugandan tennis ace was returning to the ITF Futures after a long while as he seeks to reclaim some points on the ITF pro circuit ahead of a business tennis schedule that will see him try to win a golf medal at the All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo. Mugabe is a bronze medalist at the Pan African games.
Mugabe is on a Uganda Olympic Committee Solidarity Scholarship of $1,300 which is mean’t for him to play tennis around the globe for him to gain ranking points for him to take part at the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil where the UOC think that he can win the nation a medal if he consistently takes part in several international tournaments.
Mugabe recently lost the Governor’s Cup in Lagos, Nigeria Nigeria’s Michael Moses.
