Vipers limped to a goalless draw against Express F.C on Tuesday at Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

The table leaders had scored in every game of their last six fixtures but failed to break the deadlock against toothless Express F.C in a goalless draw.

Edward Golola used a starting XI with no main striker and was not impressed by his side’s performance.

Our prime target in this game was a win if you look at our reverse performances but the boys never capitalized on the few chances we had. Basically you won’t get too many chances when playing aside like Express who boast a decent home run and this is exactly what happened. Miya farouk came close but he missed narrowly but I had to introduce a striker on the pitch in Daniel Oyirwth but (he) failed to live (up) to his expectations. We also missed Mike Mutyaba‘s work rate up front. Mutyaba has been kept busy by the off pitch issues of the Kampala football festival but am sure he will be back in our next game.

Vipers will host SC villa in their next league match at Buikwe and the Mawokota tactician believes that they will up their performance in their next game. He told Kawowo Sports that Vipers have to collect maximum points in their next match.

We have a lot of work to do in training so that we regain that winning touch and I think we have (to) collect maximum points from our next game.

The draw meant that the 2010 league champions lay at the helm of the 16 man table with 30 points and have collected their third draw out of 12 league games with three left to wrap up the first round.
