If it wasn’t for the terrible headache maybe Shamim Bangi and Ogar Siamupangila would have made it to the finals of the women doubles of the Zambian Badminton International.

They didn’t go far in the South African International but find themselves in the finals of the Botswana Badminton meet.

Bangi and Ogar defeated the Botswana pair of Laone Mosekiemang and Maranyane Tuelo 2-0 (21-10, 21-15) and later knocked out Makubate and Tebogo Ndzinge (also from Botswana) in straight sets 21-15, 21-15.

They defeated Mitchelle Butler and Annari Viljoen 2-1 (21-17, 18-21, 21-18) in the semis to make the finals.

Bangi will also be playing the mixed doubles were she will pair with Hlinican Matej. Bangi and Matej got a bye into the second round were they defeated Godwin Mathumo and Kgalalelo Kegakilwe 2-0 (21-10, 21-15).

In the quarters Bangi and Ogar beat Egyptians Ali Ahmed and Doha Hany 2-0 (21-15, 21-11) The South African pair of Coetzer Cameron and Michelle weren’t not spared in the semifinals as the Ugandan and Zambian won 2-1 (21-17, 18-21, 21-18).
