Ugandan football federation, FUFA has blocked the friendly matches that Tanzanian football club, Azam F.C had scheduled with Ugandan clubs Kawowo sports reliably reports. FUFA spokesman, Ahmed Hussein confirmed to this website on Saturday.
We have not got any official communication from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), therefore the games planned are behind our back.
The Tanzania Vodacom Premier League champions Azam FC had lined up two friendly games with URA F.C and SC Villa as they continue with their new season preparations.
No referees:
The FUFA referees who were supposed to officiate the matches have not been notified neither. Sam Mpiima, head of FUFA referees standing committee confirmed to Kawowo Sports when contacted.
Since FUFA has not sanctioned these friendly games, we cannot go ahead to appoint the match referees.
On Saturday, Azam F.C assistant coach, George ‘Best’ Nsiimbe personally delivered a letter of notification about the matches to FUFA. However, Ahmed Hussein questioned the letter.
When you critically look at that letter, it is not directly addressed to FUFA, we (FUFA) are just copied in.
On Thursday, former FUFA President, also Director at Vipers Football Club reportedly met with Azam officials for possible sponsorship.
For now, the Bakhresa family sponsored club players and officials are in Kampala and look set to return back home in Tanzania.
