Tuesday December 16, 2014, Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo. Kick Off: 4.30pm

Reigning champions KCC FC will seek redemption when they host Soana FC at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.

KCC FC lost their previous fixture 3-2 at the hands of URA FC and understand that anything less than three points against Soana FC may widen the gap on the league leaders Vipers.

“This is a game we must win if we’re to keep pace with early pacesetters,” Coach Abdallah Mubiru told Kawowo Sports.

According to KCC FC’s official website, the side has two players ruled out in Isaac Ntege (injury) and Rogers Lukwiya (malaria) but has confirmed that Brian Umony and Derrick Nsibambi are available despite suffering knocks in training.

Life without Brian Majwega

The fixture also marks the start to life without attacking midfielder Brian Majwega after he left for Azam FC.

“He is officially Azam player now so we can’t use him,” Mubiru confirmed.

For the visitors, this game provides an opportunity for back to back wins for the first time this season.

Soana head into the game full on confidence after thrashing Rwenshama 4-1 in the previous fixture and come to a stadium where they won the reverse fixture last season.

A win for KCC FC may see them leapfrog SC Villa to go second if the 16 time league champions lose at Buikwe against Vipers but also presents a great opportunity for the champions to cut the leaders’ lead in case they fail to beat Villa.

Head to Head Statistics

The two sides have met twice with each bagging a win.

KCC FC are currently 3rd on the log with 24 points while Soana FC are 14th on 9 points.

With Lweza and Kira Young playing against each other, victory for Soana will see them jump out of relegation zone for the first time this campaign.
