Kira Young F.C 2-0 Entebbe F.C

Strikers, Emmanuel Obitre and Brian Nkuubi’s first half goals gave Kira Young football club their 4th victory of the campaign over struggling Entebbe Young at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole on Saturday.

This was during the very last fixture of the Uganda Premier League first round of the 2014/15 season.

The match was rescheduled following the engagement of the Nelson Mandela Stadium on the day the match was supposed to be played (on 16th December 2014 with the NRM Delegates conference).

Kira Young scored two goals in a space of 3 minutes with the first coming off a 33rd minute simple tap in from striker, Emmanuel Obitre after the Entebbe F.C back line was caught off guard.

Brian Nkuubi doubled the scores in the 36th minute capitalizing on yet another defensive blunder.

Former Uganda Cranes midfielder, Hakim Magumba had a splendid evening at office for Kira Young.

Magumba

Magumba (with the ball) had ‘maze’ runs from deep inside his own half to the opposition and the defense splitters were a handful for Entebbe F.C.

Entebbe F.C’s care taker coach, Charles Okumu introduced veteran forward, Alosoius Lubega for Ibrahim Magadah but the hosts held it tight at the back with solid defending.

Instead, they would have made it a cricket score had Patrick Kaddu not been wasteful on the evening.

At one moment, Kaddu had the goal line to beat with goalie Ismail Sseruggwa beaten at the near post with skipper Baker Lukooya’s well laid ball into the area.

Kira Young now accumulates 16 points from 15 games but remains in the 13th position as Entebbe F.C is still stagnated in 15th with just 9 points picked in the opening first round.

The league takes a break till the start of the second round expected in January 2015.
