1st Round:
1st Leg: 13th – 15th Feb: Cameroon Vs Uganda, 2ND leg (20th – 22nd Feb: Uganda Vs Cameroon)

2nd Round:
1st Leg: 13th- 15th March: Winner Uganda/Cameroon Vs Ghana, 2nd Leg (20th – 22nd March 2015)

Final Tournament: 14th -19th April 2015, Seychelles

Uganda Sand Cranes has landed a tough draw in the 2015 African Nations beach soccer qualifiers.

At a draw conducted in Cairo on Friday, Uganda will have to skip two West African nations if they are to make it to the April 2015 final tournament in Seychelles.

Uganda faces Cameroon in the first round in a two legged affair in February 2015 with the winner playing Ghana for the available slot in the finals.

Ahmed Reda Salem, the CAF Manager in charge in the Competitions Division communicates in a memo that;

The first round of the CAF 2015 Beach Soccer qualifiers will be played in early February with the return leg after a week. The second round begins in Mid March and ends March 22nd 2015

Ninteen teams will be engaged in the qualification matches over the two rounds.

Nine teams have been exempted from the first round qualifiers basing on their participation in the 2013 Championships which was hosted in Jadida, Morocco as well as their official ranking.

The 9 are; Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, Madagascar, Libya, South Africa and Uganda’s likely second round opponent, Ghana.

First Round Draws:
Uganda plays Cameroon, Tunisia plays Mali, Sudan entertains Djibouti, Mauritius engages Mozambique before the East African derby of Kenya versus Tanzania.

Second Round fixtures:
Ivory coast awaits the winner of Kenya/Tanzania, Morocco will play the winner from Sudan vs Djibouti, Tunisia is booked for the winner of Mali Vs Senegal, Madagasacar Vs South Africa, Nigeria Vs Libya and Ghana awaits the winner of Uganda Vs Cameroon.

In December 2014, the Uganda Sand Cranes had a test match when they traveled to Bububu beach in Zanzibar to play an International match against Zanzibar.

Uganda won the game 5-4 with goals coming off the feet of team skipper, Derrick Tekkwo, Baker Lukooya, Roch Somoka and Brian Nkuubi (2).

Uganda Sand Cranes technical team is yet to name the squad likely to take part in the qualifiers nor communicate the training dates.
