Equatorial Guinea 1-1 Congo
Claude Re Loy’s Congo Brazzaville needed a late Bifouma Koulossa goal to snatch a point in the opening game of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup against hosts Equatorial Guinea.
The hosts started on the bright note and deservedly got in front as early as the 16th minute thanks to a well taken Nsue Lopez goal.
Despite Congo settling into the game after goal, the hosts continued to impress and held on till half time.
After recess, either side came out with guns blazing with Congo creating more clear cut opportunities but Equatorial Guinea who had resorted to counter attacking football held their own and still created opportunities and had a goal chopped for offside.
Congo persistently asked questions and finally got the deserved equalizer through Bifouma who slotted home from close range with three minutes on the clock to end the game square.
The two now share top spot in group A with Gabon and Burkina Faso yet to face off at 10pm.
